The GKU is an experimental transdisciplinary collective co-founded by Jacina Leong and Associate Professor Linda Knight, originally as a plug-in to the Ars Electronica Futurelab Academy at QUT. Now based in Melbourne, the GKU seeks to complicate the ever expanding ubiquity of technological, haptic, and educative interfaces through collaborative performances, social encounters and critical-creative works. The GKU brings diverse publics together (young children, developers, educators, festival goers) to explore whose voices, whose actions, whose bodies have been foregrounded, and, in what ways these technological participations may be altered.

Recent work shrewdly gazes at the glossy claims made by new Ed-Tech innovations, through experimental strategies that take up, resist, and challenge conventional infrastructures of disciplinary bordering (curriculum), knowledge production (school) and transmission (teacher).
