Ars Electronica Futurelab Academy, Brisbane & Ars Electronica Festival, Linz (2017)

The Guerrilla Knowledge Unit (GKU) is a unique opportunity for a group of pre-service teachers from the QUT Faculty of Education to extend their professional and academic knowledge as educators. The group are exposed to new concepts, language, and methods and processes of unpacking and expressing big ideas, via a range of creative practices.

Working alongside the Ars Electronica Futurelab Academy, and supported by a range of mentors, pre-service teachers will develop experimental pedagogy and experiential responses to the overarching conceptual premise: artificial intelligence. The program will support participants to generate a series of innovative pedagogical experiences for children and young people for delivery and showcasing at the Ars Electronica Festival (Linz, Austria, Sept 2017), and within informal and formal learning environments leading up to the Festival, across Brisbane.

The GKU has been invited to present two workshops at the 2017 u19 - CREATE YOUR WORLD program, as part of the Ars Electronica Festival, including: Me/You/Us + AI (open lab) and Ethics of Access, Ethics of AI (educator workshop).
